Burhaneddin Cem

Prince Burhaneddin Cem Efendi (born February 2, 1920 - died October 31, 2008 in New York, USA)[1] was the heir apparent to the headship of the Ottoman dynasty. He was born at Beşiktaş, Istanbul as the son of Prince Ibrahim Tevfik (1874-1931) and his fourth wife Hadice Sadiye Hanim (1898-1986). Prince Burhaneddin was a descendant of Sultan Abdülmecid I. He married Irene Starosselskaya of RussianGeorgian noble descent (born 1928) and has two children, Nilüfer Sultan (born 1953) and Şehzade Selim Efendi (1955).[2]
